I’m entirely willing to believe that was caused by poorly maintained U-haul equipment. I do hope there wasn’t a car on it when it went though.

Nooooo, not U-Haul, right? There wasn’t a car nearby or a wheel for that matter. This was in a pretty dense urban area, so not sure what caused this catastrophe but the guy looked pretty pissed.

Judging by the state of the asphalt, I'm sure a pothole ate the tire.

That pavement is like a kart track compared to most streets here.

I spotted this some time ago. The attaching point had
separated but luckily it had done done so at
a very low speed. N
otice also the novel way to fabricate
a mudguard.
